Defrosting
Wrap me in warm woolens,
envelop me in down,
festoon me with furs from
my sole to my crown.
Turn up the radiator,
bestow a sizzling kiss,
cuddle me in cozy arms;
I'll bask in your bliss.
You have such a warm heart,
and it's kind of you to share it.
But my feet will still be frozen--
I hope that you can bear it.

Resolve
A Magpie Tale
Bad habits
cloak your better nature,
like a stinging smokescreen.
Don't want to be judged
by your cover?
Throw off the choking chains.
Let your true light shine.
